Consulting Diagnostics

There are many times when you need to quickly come to grips with where your IT organisation is at.

Following mergers, acquisitions and divestments. When IT Budgets are slashed. These situations invariably results in higher expectations being raised for the CIO, and ultimately means you have to do more with less.

Based on more than 25 years of experience as a CEO, consultant and educator helping CIO’s both overseas and in Australia to make sense of what needs to be done, it is my considered opinion that most questions can be resolved by understanding where you are today.

Remarkable as it may seem, but most (significantly most) IT organisations do not really understand their current situation or the impact that plans and projects will have on the current infrastructure.

  • Develop & thrive when market conditions suddenly change by knowing what to cut, where to cut and how deep to cut.
  • Gain and keep momentum to stay ahead of your competition.
  • Receive hands on guidance as an existing CIO or help new CIO’s quickly understand what capabilities, gaps and issues you and your enterprise face.

You can choose where you want to start your investigation. The diagnostics draw heavily on industry benchmarks, standards and methodologies but are inherently pragmatic and designed to be completed quickly, with a minimum of fuss and maximum leverage.

IT Portfolio Prioritisation, Resilience & Risk Assessment

The IT Portfolio Prioritisation & Risk Assessment builds a model of your current inventory of IT Applications and In-flight projects. Working with your organisation we compile a detailed measurement of full life-cycle costs of each application. The applications are modelled against either a company specific Business Reference Model or industry standard BRM.

The Diagnostic Assessment then examines the Business Value & Strategic Alignment of each application and measures the Business Risk across the dimensions of “scope of impact” and “resilience” and compares business risk to an assessment of Technology Risk.
